We appeared in the media again! This time it’s a story about how Karina took the plunge and decided to move to Langkawi.
To all our Muslim friends, here’s wishing you a blessed Hari Raya!
Hari Raya or Eid-Ul Fitri is the celebration to mark the end of Ramadhan. So to commemmorate our very first one, we threw a modest shindig for our house guests and some friends from the island.
For more photos of how we celebrated the occasion, go to our Facebook album.
We often get lovely messages from guests who have become friends but we thought this one was extra special and deserved a posting
Rio was one of our young guests who recently stayed with us. Unfortunately, she was a little under the weather while here, but thankfully got better in time to enjoy a few days of sunshine.
As a parting gift she drew us a beautiful self-portrait, complete with a bowl of porridge in one hand and a bottle of what we call “Magic Oil” which we use for all sorts of ailments. Both, supplied by fatCUPID, were apparently instrumental in her getting better
Her parents and her have promised to come back and visit us again!
Karina was a guest speaker on BFM 89.9’s Raise Your Game segment with Shankar Santhiram where she talked about courtesy and trust in the workplace – two very important things in our business!
Listen to the podcast here.
The magic of May saw us celebrating a pair of honeymooners, fatCUPID’s Moms cooking shoulder-to-shoulder with a Celebrity Chef, lots of love from our new visitors….
And, we appeared in a magazine!
Not bad for a two-month old small hotel eh?
Conny and Keith’s Kick-Ass Cookout!
He’s co-written a cookbook with Morgan Freeman, appeared on Oprah, teamed up with the likes of Wolfgang Puck and Todd English, and is one of our favourite guests. Now, fresh from his stint as the Executive Chef of The Datai, Conny Andersson teams up with fatCUPID’s own Keith Ng at the grill to serve up a range of lip-smacking gourmet burgers and salads that will knock your socks off!

fatCUPID @ La Pari-Pari
NEW BOUTIQUE HOTEL AND RESTAURANT
by Kamila Delart
A group of friends and selected guests were invited to celebrate the launch of La Pari – Pari, a new boutique hotel and the resident Restaurant fatCUPID. Hidden behind the Sun Block in Pantai Tengah and surrounded by nature, the place has a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The 12 rooms are built around a patio with beautiful old trees and a small swimming pool. Rates start at RM 275 with 20% discount until the end of April.
The restaurant is run by three cousins who share passion for food. Selecting the namefatCUPID, the owners are determined to prove the theory that ‘once struck by cupid’s arrow, you will fall instantly in love’ – trusting that once their guest taste the casual Australian cuisine, they will keep coming back for more. With fun atmosphere, delicious culinary creations of Keith Ng, the restaurant’s Chef, and Jeremy Liew’s friendly service, their vision could become quickly a reality. Although part of the La Pari-Pari hotel, the restaurant is open to public. Curious? Give it a try and if love-struck, post a like on their facebook:facebook.com/fatcupidlangkawi
Tomorrow marks a week since we’ve opened for business and we’ve had some wonderful folks come through our doors.
Our small pre-opening celebration with friends and family was a blast. Even our Chairman, the almost-five-year-old Kaeden was in top form. He braved a tall ladder to help me hang the traditional red cloth above our entrance on April 1.
We’ve even been featured in Langkawi Gazette (www.langkawi-gazette.com)!
So come on over and pay us a visit!
Rooms are still on 20% discount till end June. And our restaurant fatCUPID is one of the few eateries in the vicinity that is open for breakfast bright and early from 8 am
